Deed of Gift

Name of Trophy:

The trophy will be called the "Ben Ledi Trophy".

Purpose:

To bring together the Solo owners in Scotland for the purpose of determining annually a resident Scottish Champion.

Conditions:

1. A participant must be resident full time in Scotland, own a National Solo and be a member of the National Solo Class Association.
2. The trophy will be competed for in annual rotation at a Club where a minimum of 4 Solos are sailed,
   OR at a venue which is considered will add value to the development of the class in Scotland (*1).
3. The event to be held outwith The Scottish National Solo Championship but may be included in the Travellers Series for that year.
4. A minimum entry of 5 boats is required for the trophy series.
5. All races in the series are to count, the minimum number being 2. In the eventuality of 2 races not being sailed at the nominated venue or less than 5 boats are entered, then the event will be competed for at the next meeting in the Travellers Series for that year. Otherwise at a venue to be mutually agreed with a representative body of the Solo owners resident in Scotland.
6. Non qualifying boats will be excluded from the scoring for the trophy.
7. Scoring to be inaccordance with The Racing Rules of Sailing Rule A2.2. Where there is a tie in the series Rule A2.3 will apply.
8. The trophy was presented by the undernoted Solo owners at Loch Venachar Sailing Club and if at a future date it is necessary to alter the Deed of Gift every effort should be made to contact the donors and the alteration effected in accordance with the view of the majority. Failing this the matter should be referred to the National Solo Class Association who have in their possession a copy of the Deed of Gift.
